President Ilham Aliyev: Today, Turkey world’s power center

Baku: “I and my dear brother Recep Tayyip Erdogan have made huge efforts over the last 11 years to further strengthen Azerbaijan-Turkey unity”

“I’m too delighted to be in Kars, an ancient Turkish land. The establishment of the Vocational and Technical Lyceum named after Heydar Aliyev in Kars particularly is of great importance. This school carries the name of my father – Heydar Aliyev – who is the founder of the Azerbaijani state. When I landed at the Kars airport today, I first visited a park named after Heydar Aliyev and a monument honoring him. I owe my gratitude for the respect shown in Turkey’s Kars to Heydar Aliyev’s memory,” Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said on March 17 addressing the opening of the Vocational and Technical Lyceum named after Heydar Aliyev in Kars.

He noted that Heydar Aliyev has greatly contributed to the development of Azerbaijan-Turkey relations, and always wanted Azerbaijan-Turkey friendship to be strong.

“Heydar Aliyev’s popular saying is an example for all of us. Heydar Aliyev said that Azerbaijan and Turkey are one nation, two states. We are committed to this policy and have made great efforts with my brother Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the last 11 years to further strengthen the unity between Turkey and Azerbaijan. We share same position on all issues and have brought the political relations to the highest level.

Azerbaijan and Turkey always support each other within international organizations. Turkey’s growing power also strengthens Azerbaijan. Today, Turkey is the world’s power center. Turkey has passed a long way under the leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdogan in recent years. Works done today in Kars confirm it,” President Aliyev underlined.

The head of state recalled that Turkey invited Azerbaijan to the G20 summit.

“This is a true approach of brotherhood. We are strengthening this brotherhood everywhere,” he noted.
