President Ilham Aliyev: “The first stage of the international sea port in Alat should be completed in summer months”

Baku: New air terminal of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport will be launched in the near future. Construction of the new air terminal is a historical event. This will be one of the most beautiful airports in the world. If we take into account that international events are often held in our country, this airport will play an important role in the development of our country. This is an entrance to our country”, said the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on outcomes of socio-economic development of the first quarter of 2014 and tasks laying ahead.

The Head of State noted that the first stage of the international sea port in Alat should be completed in summer months: “This is a great project. The port in Alat will be the biggest international sea port in the Caspian Sea. The task laying ahead is that the first stage of the port should be completed in the summer months and works of the second stage should start. In this case, the current sea port will be moved from the center of the city and public places will be constructed there. Nevertheless, a new boulevard – White City boulevard is constructed from that port towards Zigh. Its current length is more than 2 km. New public zones are created there. Earlier movement of the port will enable the zone serving to the citizens. Railway lines also will be demolished. 8-lane motor road and nice boulevard will be constructed. That’s nevertheless, new international seaport will be launched in the next future. However, we should launch the first stage in summer months at least”.

President I. Aliyev said the highways are being constructed under the schedule: “Because most of highways have been constructed, now the works are underway. However, the quality should be first, we must focus attention on the quality. Our railway is being restored, new rail vehicles, locomotives should be purchased and relevant tasks have been given”.
