President Ilham Aliyev: “Azerbaijan is the main trading partner of France in the South Caucasus”

Baku: Economics. “Azerbaijan and France have many-branched relations. For further development, our cooperation will continue.

We have concrete priority programs in every sphere, documents will be signed. These allow us having development in our many-branched relations”, said the President Ilham Aliyev at Azerbaijan-France business forum.

According to him, the documents signed today will serve development different spheres of our cooperation: “This creates opportunities for bilateral relations, as well as opens new horizons for regional cooperation. Our political links are at high level. Regarding economic sphere, Azerbaijan is the main trading partner of France in the South Caucasus. Our trade turnover approaches $ 2 bln”.

Head of the state spoke about Azerbaijan’s targets: “Our main priorities in the next years are related to development of non-oil sector. Or other target is to improve transport sector. France has experience in this sphere. Information and telecommunication are also one of the main priorities. We also cooperate in this sphere. At the same time, we’ll continue our relations in cosmic sphere. Moreover, tourism, agriculture, especially vine-growing are one of priority issues and we can not find partner better than France”.

President Ilham Aliyev also spoke about energy cooperation with France: “We invite French companies to do larger-scale works in Azerbaijan”.
