President Erdogan departs Istanbul to visit Germany

ISTANBUL: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan went to Germany on Sunday to attend “Youth Meetings” events organized by Turkish community.

Erdogan departed from Istanbul at morning hours heading to Cologne. EU Minister Volkan Bozkir, Sports Minister Akif Cagatay Kilic, Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus and Governor of Istanbul Vasip Sahin also were on board of presidential plane TC-TUR to accompany President on his visit.

Meanwhile, opposition parties claim that President Erdogan organizes such meeting to collect votes for ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) in upcoming parliament elections.
