President Aliyev: Azerbaijan, Turkey support and will support each other

Baku: A one-on-one meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has come to an end.

The meeting was followed by a meeting in an expanded format with the participation of the two countries’ delegations.

President Aliyev said that Davutoglu paid his first visit to Azerbaijan following the parliamentary election in Turkey, which is an indicative of friendship and brotherhood between the two countries.

Azerbaijan and Turkey support and will support each other in all issues, said the president.

“A large delegation will hold bilateral meetings during the visit. Relations are developing in all fields and this visit will play an important role in the development of relations,” he added.

Davutoglu said that he didn’t even visit his birthplace Istanbul, but came to Azerbaijan.

“Azerbaijan is our soul. I will introduce you members of the new government. There are not countries as close as Azerbaijan and Turkey,” the PM said, extending congratulations to President Aliyev over the ruling party’s victory in recent parliamentary election in Azerbaijan.

Then the meeting was continued behind closed doors.
