Polish minister of agriculture to visit Azerbaijan

Baku: Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland Marek Savitsky will visit Azerbaijan on November 3, the Polish Embassy in Azerbaijan told APA.

The minister will be accompanied by heads of Polish veterinary and phytosanitary inspections as well as representatives of large agro-industrial companies.

Savitsky will meet with Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Heydar Asadov and representatives of the major companies functioning in this field. During the meetings, the sides will discuss the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland.

The embassy said that Poland has recently taken part in the Twinning project financed by the European Union and implemented in Azerbaijan as well. The first project is related to identification of animals and their export to EU countries while the other project is about the fight against erosion of lands used for agricultural and other purposes in Azerbaijan.

The agriculture is one of the important fields in Poland. In 2013, Poland exported food products with total value of $20 billion. And Poland’s total export in 2013 made $150 billion.
