Police fire tear gas to people gathering to support İpek media

After interim Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government’s appointed trustees to take over the management of Koza İpek Holding, a conglomerate which owns media outlets that are critical of the government, people gathered in front of İpek media to show solidarity. The officers intervened harshly in the group by firing tear gas. Some police chiefs ordered officers to detain resisting people.
