Police chief injured in armed attack in southern Turkey

A police chief was injured as a result of an armed attack by unknown assailants in the southern province of Gaziantep on Monday evening.

According to claims, officer named Haci Berk was in his vehicle on Sanlidere Street. Suddenly, a group of assailants got off the car in front of him and began to shoot at him. Berk was injured in his stomach and was taken to a private hospital. The condition of the man is critical.

Police have launched a detailed search to find the assailants.
