PKK abducts soldier, local in southeastern Turkey

Members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workersand’ Party (PKK) abducted a soldier and a local in the southeastern province of Mui on Monday, the Turkish military has said.
According to a statement released by the General Staff on its website on Wednesday, a specialist corporal and a resident of an area between the towns of Mescitli and Bostankent were abducted by PKK members on Monday evening around 8:30 p.m.
The statement added that an investigation has been launched into the incident by the authorities.
The PKK also reportedly abducted two other Mui residents on May 11.
