Pile-up kills six in eastern Turkey

KARS: A total of six people died and 16 were injured as a result of a multi-vehicle collision involving three vehicles in the eastern province of Kars on Wednesday.

The accident took place on a highway connecting Susuz district to Ardahan province. Reportedly, two automobiles and a school service hit each other. Gendarmerie, fire brigade and medical staff were dispatched to the scene over calls by other drivers.

Six people whose identities have not been determined yet died at the scene. Nineteen people who were injured in the incident were taken to the nearby hospitals.

Police launched an investigation into the incident.
