People protest killing of Alevis in Syria in front of Turkish Embassy in Paris

PARIS: A protest was held by the Federation of Alevi Communities of France (FUAF) in front of Turkish Embassy in Paris to condemn mass killings of 35 Alevi people in Istebrak village in the Syrian city of Idlib on Sunday.

Several protests were held by the Alevi unions across the Europe throughout the week. Lastly, people gathered and placed a black wreath in front of the union. A press released was read during the protest which said they strongly condemn killing of 35 people by al-Nusra Front after they seized control of town of Jisr al-Shughour in Syria’s Idlib province. They also said al-Nusra kidnapped tens of Alevis.

After reading the statement, the group ended their protest.
