PACE co-rapporteurs hold meetings at Azerbaijani Parliament

Baku: Members of Azerbaijan’s permanent delegation to PACE on Monday met with the organization’s co-rapporteurs Pedro Agramunt (Spain) and Tadeusz Iwiński (Poland), who are on a visit to Azerbaijan.

It was noted at the meeting that Azerbaijan, interested to develop cooperation with the Council of Europe, decently fulfills its commitments to the organization, the parliament told APA.

Iwiński highly appreciated Azerbaijan’s efforts within the Council of Europe.

The PACE co-rapporteurs were also received by Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov. The parliamentary speaker said Azerbaijan attaches high importance to the development of its relations with PACE, noting that during its chairmanship of the CoE Committee of Ministers Azerbaijan spared no efforts to promote the organization’s goals and settle priority issues.

It was outlined that the Azerbaijani side is ready to discuss with the PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteurs any issue of interest to them. PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteur Agramunt continues working on a new report.

The co-rapporteurs then met with head of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building Ali Huseynli and committee on human rights Rabiyat Aslanova.
