Officers from other cities arrive in Istanbul to ensure security on Labor Day

ISTANBUL: Large numbers of security forces arrived in Istanbul by plane to increase security measures on Labor Day.

As Istanbul Governor’s Office announced that use of Taksim Square is prohibited for May 1 celebrations, police tightened security measures around the square.

Officers from several provinces landed in Sabiha Gokcen and Ataturk airports on late Thursday and went to places of duty by buses.
