Obama to travel to Turkey to join G20 in November

In an attempt to avoid a police checkpoint in the KadikandOy district of Istanbul, a motorist entered a bus lane in the direction of the Bosporus Bridge and collided with a metrobus heading towards SandOiandutlanduandceime at around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, leaving five people in the car dead and five others injured, according to eyewitnesses.
Five out of six persons travelling in the car were killed and one was injured in the accident. The driver of the metrobus, Erdogan Kalender, was also injured along with three passengers.
The people in the car had been drinking and entered the metrobus lane to bypass the police checkpoint, reports say.
In another traffic incident, 18 people were injured when a bus crashed in the Central Anatolian province of Akasaray on Monday night. The accident took place on the Adana-Aksaray Highway when the driver, Onur Atali, turned sharply to avoid hitting a donkey on the road.
The passengers injured in the accident were taken to Aksaray State Hospital and are not in serious condition.
