Nardaran incident – coup attempt and terror act: CMO chairman

Baku: What happened in Nardaran on Nov.26 was a coup attempt and terror act, Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Allahshukur Pashazade said on Thursday.

“What happened in Nardaran has saddened us. We made a statement during the incidents, saying what happened had nothing to do with religion. It was a coup attempt and terror, which we strongly condemn,” he said.

He noted that the Azerbaijani state has created all necessary conditions for religion.

“Whoever is going to side with people like Taleh Baghirzade – it is ungratefulness and opposing the state and its head,” he noted.

According to the CMO chairman, there are some believers and elders in Nardaran.

“A group of people have manipulated their belief. They are not from Nardaran. During our leader’s reign, we played a role in the release of about 40 prisoners and restoration of sanctuaries in Nardaran. We managed to build some sort of peace. I regret it was not completed afterwards. Force has been used for days. This is the right decision. We proved incapable in settling this problem,” added Pashazade.
