Morsi death penalty protested in front of Egyptian embassy

ANKARA: A crowded group of Civil Servants’ Trade Union (Memur-Sen) members staged a demonstration in front of Egyptian embassy in Ankara to protest court’s death penalty decision on ousted President Muhammad Mursi.

Gathering in front of the embassy with placards and banners that read “Pro-coup court’s decisions are unlawful”, “Either these executions will stop, or oppressed people’s lament will hit west”, “Shoulder to shoulder against tyrants”, protestors shouted slogans and made a press statement condemning Egyptian coup-maker President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his government.

Against any possible riot by outraged crowd, police forces took strict security measures in front of the embassy. Protestors who demanded for permission to read press statement at the door of the embassy not allowed to approach the building.
