More police officers detained during dawn operations

ISTANBUL (CIHAN)- Thirty-three police officers were detained in separate parts of the country as part of the second wave of the operations conducted against police tasked with at last year’s corruption investigation in the early hours of Tuesday.

A police unit raided several points where the officers reside and detainees were taken to the hospital for medical check.

On July 22, 115 high-ranking members of the police force were also detained in a large-scale operation which began late Monday nightearly Tuesday morning in over 20 provinces as part of the government’s attempt to contain an embarrassing graft scandal which has implicated several ministers and dozens of pro-government businessmen.
