Military exercise carried out in central Turkey

KAYSERI: During a military exercise in Turkish central province of Kayseri, Turkish soldiers rescued nationals in an air and land operation.

Turkey’s first domestic assault helicopter ATAK was also used in the operation carried out by 1st Commando Brigade. 4th Corps Commander Metin Iyidil attend the exercise. According to the commando unit, the aim of the operation is to check availability and feasibility of airborne, enhance cooperation among troops, ensure availability of shooting and maneuver and to test capability of the paratroopers.

A total of 800 soldiers participated in the operation with 10 transport plane, two F-16 jets, four general purpose helicopters, three assault helicopters. In addition, ATAK, first domestic assault helicopter was used in the operation for the first time.
