Meeting held at headquarters created by MES due to first European Games

Baku: A meeting was held on Friday at the headquarters created by the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) at the State Fire Protection Service’s Narimanov district unit due to the first European Games.

The meeting organized by the ministry was attended by Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, Lieutenant General Etibar Mirzayev, heads of the ministry’s substructures, Director General of the Operating Committee of the Baku-2015 first European Games Simon Clegg and other members of the committee as well as representatives of relevant state agencies, the ministry told APA.

E. Mirzayev first gave to the guests an overview of the headquarters created by the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) due to the first European Games.

After being familiarized with the Baku Olympic Stadium and the tactical model of the surrounding area, the participants were informed about the security measures taken at other sports venues scheduled to host the Games.

The ministry has taken all the necessary measures for the prevention of possible emergency situations and is closely cooperating with the European Olympic Committees in this area.

Simon Clegg expressed content with the work carried out, saying that preparations for the first European Games are fully underway.

The participants then exchanged views on the future challenges of the European Games.
