Man taken hostage by friend saved by special operations unit in southern Turkey

KAHRAMANMARAS: A man who was stabbed and taken hostage by his friend at his home was saved in an operation conducted by special operations force in the southern province of Kahramanmaras on late Monday.

The incident took place in Ertugrulgazi neighborhood. Reportedly, Alparslan O. and Remzi P. met after work and later Alparslan O. invited Remzi P. to his home. At the home, an argument broke out between the two due to an unknown reason. During the fight Alparslan O. stabbed Remzi P. in several parts of his body and took him hostage.

Upon the tip-off by the neighbors of Alparslan O., police arrived at the scene and tried to persuade him to release his friend. When he persisted, special operations unit was dispatched to the scene. Carrying out an operation, the officers rescued the man and detained Alparslan O. Remzi P. was taken to a nearby hospital and Alparslan O. was taken to the police station.
