Karabakh settlement – important for security of both Azerbaijani, Armenian peoples, says US co-chair

Baku: A comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is important in terms of ensuring the security of both Azerbaijani and Armenian peoples, US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick told reporters in Baku on Oct.28.

“I understand the concerns of the Azerbaijani and Armenian peoples in connection with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict which has not been resolved for over 20 years,” Warlick said.

Warlick said that the co-chairs are trying to reach a common opinion.

“We are discussing our proposals with both presidents. Of course, the time has come for the presidents to show the will and decide whether they want peace, not conflict,” said the co-chair.

The co-chair further expressed hope that the peoples living in the region will raise their voices and demand a peaceful solution to the conflict. “The day will come when the peoples of the region to live in peace and harmony,” he said.
