Istanbul ’most improved’ city in global survey

Istanbul has improved the most of any city since 2010 regarding various indices including economic growth and performance, quality of life and cost, and affordability, according to a recently released report by the global real estate services firm Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL).

The report covered 200 indices, an increase from the 160 it included in 2013. Behind Istanbul on the list of the top five most improved cities were Moscow, Mumbai, Seoul and Dubai.
The report ranked New York, London, Singapore, Paris and Hong Kong as the top five global cities overall, with Tokyo, Zurich, Amsterdam, Seoul and Sydney rounding out the top 10.
and”As businesses expand and globalize moving up the risk curve, second-tier cities and those not previously on the radar have a chance to prove that they can create and leverage momentum,and” said the report, noting that Istanbuland’s performance indicates that cities can profoundly change their position in the rankings according to global criteria.
