Hundreds of Russian children participate in Friend Turkey painting contest

MOSCOW: Around 1,000 Russian children took part in a painting contest titled “Friend Turkey” organized by Turk-Russian Cultural Center in Russia on Monday.

The organization which was held jointly with Moscow Municipality drew great interest. A Russian Deputy Minister named Tatyana Barsukova, some deputies and businesspeople attended the event.

Fifteen paintings ranked in the contests in different categories. Russian children were awarded by Turk-Russian Cultural Center with various prizes from Turkey tour to bicycles and smartphones.

Speaking to Cihan news agency, Barsukova said they have made children happy with such an organization held by Turk-Russian Cultural Center. Children participating in the contest have chance to explore Turkey, which is very important, he added.

Deputy Kartavsteva said bridges are established between Russian and Turkey thanks to such events, which is very meaningful.
