Heydar Aliyev Grand Prix underway in Gabala

The second International Grand Prix Shotgun devoted to national leader Heydar Aliyev’s memory is underway in Azerbaijan’s city of Gabala.

Some 150 best shooters from 17 countries is competing for the best title. The sportsmen are competing in such Olympic disciplines as trap, double trap and skeet.

On the starting day of the competition Azerbaijani shooters gained medals. Rena Aleskerova and Alimirza Guliyev showed good results, taking gold medals.

On trap man discipline Italian shooter Erminio Frasca was also distinguished and won gold medal. Alipov Alexey from Russia took silver, while Alfaihan Abdulrahman from Kuwait gained bronze medal.

The fund price of the tournament stands at $96,500.
