Hadi Rajabli: There are 12,000 Karabakh war disabled people, 18,000 martyr families in Azerbaijan

Baku: As a result of the Karabakh conflict, there are 12,000 disabled people and 18,000 martyr families in Azerbaijan.

This was stated by MP Hadi Rajabli at a conference entitled “Equal opportunities in the protection of different groups of the population, APA reports.

He said Heydar Aliyev laid the foundation of building a democratic state and ensuring human rights in Azerbaijan.

“Heydar Aliyev came to power at a time when all rights of about one million people in Azerbaijan had been violated. At that period it was very difficult to take the initial steps, join the human rights convention, and adopt a law on children’s rights. But reforms of transitional period were carried out thanks to Heydar Aliyev’s activity. And today we try to adopt the kind of laws that there would not be any gaps during their execution. If there are any such gaps in laws, it sometimes causes some problems in execution. The primary goal is to develop more drastic laws and maintain control over their execution in different places,” he added.
