Goethe-Institut Istanbul relaunches German film series

Goethe-Institut Istanbul is relaunching its weekly film screening program in its newly refurbished theater this week with two titles from 2014.
The first is a biopic that was the official German submission to the 87th Academy Awards, and the second is a documentary feature about Turkish immigrants in Germany.
and”Die Geliebten Schwesternand” (Beloved Sisters), a biopic about the 18th century German poet Friedrich Schiller, will be shown on Thursday at 8 p.m. The film, written and directed by Dominik Graf, premiered at the 64th Berlin Film Festival in 2014.
and”Hadi Tschandus,and” the second title on the bill, is a documentary feature co-directed by Anne Denkinger and Matthias Ditscherlein, to be shown June 15 at 7 p.m. The film focuses on the stories of five Turkish immigrants in Germany who have decided to return to Turkey. Its co-director Ditscherlein will be in attendance at Mondayand’s screening and will be on hand for a QA session following the film.
Goethe-Institut Istanbul is located on Yeni andcarii Cad., at No: 32 in Beyoilu.
