German and Irish athletes arrived in Baku to participate in the first European Games

Baku: Sportsmen from Germany and Ireland, as well as the Israeli delegation arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the upcoming Baku 2015 – the first European Games, APA reports.

They were met by special representatives of Operating Committee of “Baku-2015” European Games and a group of volunteers at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

Teams were taken to the village of athletes by special buses under the escort of traffic police officers.

Note that a group of foreign journalists for the First European Games arrived in Baku tonight. They were also warmly welcomed at the airport by representatives of the Operating Committee and volunteers of the First European Games and escorted to the Media Village.

Note that prior to the events special staff of “Baku 2015” the first European Games will operate 24/7 at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

Recall that in competitions for 20 sports (16 of them Olympic sports), which will be held from the 12th until June 28, will bring together over 6000 athletes from 49 countries.
