France-based Association of Friends of Azerbaijan condemns some local government authorities signing contracts with NK separatists

The French-based Association of Friends of Azerbaijan has issued a statement regarding four local government authorities signing contracts with the separatist Nagorno-Karabakh regime.

APA quotes the statement – signed by MP Jean-François Mansell, the chairman of the Association of Friends of Azerbaijan – as follows:

“Four local government authorities in France have recently signed cooperation contracts with the illegal Nagorno-Karabakh “government”. This is a wrong step. Because there is no such “government”, recognized by neither Armenia nor any other country. As a result, these local government authorities expose themselves to a risk in politically dangerous territories because of pressure from voters.

Secondly, this is a step aimed at undermining the French state, which has been trying to help find a fair and long-lasting solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group, in compliance with the 4 UN security Council resolutions condemning the invasion of Nagorno-Karabakh and the seven surrounding districts that turned about a million people into refugees and IDPs”.

The statement also says that a constructive solution to the old conflict through dialogue is in the Armenian people’s favor.
