Foreign policy failure due to lack of understandingAs Iran opens itself to the outside world, Turkey is becoming introverted in the way that Iran used to be. Turkey is gradually becoming more isolated in the region and in the world.

Rhetoric contradicting foreign politics in practice such as “precious loneliness” [as said by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip ErdoIan’s chief foreign affairs aisor], moved Turkey away from the international community and from its old reputation. The hysteria of “precious loneliness” led to a neurotic loneliness and finally an embarrassing worthlessness.

Now Turkey has less credit in the region than the coup-founded Egyptian government. Prime Minister ErdoIan confronts the world while having only 43 percent support from his people.

Meanwhile Turkey, designated by Foreign Minister Ahmet DavutoIlu as a country setting the world agenda, cannot protect its own citizens [who are still kept captive by a terrorist group in Iraq] nor its brothers suffering through the massacre in Gaza (GuLTEKIN AVCI, BUGuN.
