Foreign Ministry: One Azerbaijani citizen killed in Kazan mall fire

Baku: The Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia continues investigative actions with Tatarstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations

Under the Foreign Ministry’s instructions, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia is investigating through Tatarstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations if there are any Azerbaijani citizens among the victims of a fire in a shopping mall in Kazan.

Tatarstan’s Emergency Situations Ministry spokesperson Andrey Rodygin told the Azerbaijani embassy that one Azerbaijani citizen died in the blaze, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told APA.

Note that, the number of bodies recovered from underneath the ruins at “Admiral” shopping mall has reached 10. The accident took place on Marc 11, covering an area of as large as 4,000 square meters. A total of 650 people were evacuated from the building. 25 more people are still believed to be trapped under the ruins.
