Flash floods hit tourism destination Bodrum

MUGLA: Floods which were triggered by excessive rains hit one of Turkey’s most prominent tourism destinations of Mugla’s Bodrum district.

Heavy rainfalls that have been continuing in Bodrum from time to time since five days turned into downpours and caused flash floods in the district on Thursday late hours. Floods mainly affected the Yalıçiftlik, Konacık, Bitez, Ortakent, Gumbet and Turgutreis neighborhoods of Bodrum, where the incessant rain continued till morning.

Despite the floods caused heavy material damages, no human loss was reported. Bodrum municipality’s emergency situations response teams were alarmed in the most affected parts of the district.
