First meeting of heads of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia to be held

Baku: On May 3, Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov will pay visit to Ankara, APA reports quoting the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.

In the framework of the visit on May 4 will be held the first meeting between the Head of Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia, with the participation of Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov, Chief of General Staff of Turkish Armed Forces Necdet Ozel and General of the Army and Chief of General Staff of Georgian Armed Forces Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze.

The purpose of the meeting is the development of military cooperation in a trilateral format, to discuss issues of regional security, in particular the strengthening of the armed forces facing the practical arrangements for the implementation of tasks to ensure stability and security in the region and regional power, railway projects.

Following the first meeting of the heads of the Armed Forces will sign a protocol.
