Fener stays in contention with Emre last-gasp goal in Mersin

Second half substitute Emre BelandOzoilu scored a goal in added time against 10-man Mersin idman Yurdu to claim full points and keep one foot in the championship race with just two matches to go.
The veteran playmaker, who had not started due to foot pain that had started four days previously, made quick work of a pass sent into him and curled the ball past keeper Nihat iahin in the 90+2 minute.
and”We need to make sacrifices. If we had drawn, then we would have had to congratulate Galatasaray on the championship. I had pain during the game but I will do whatever I can to keep up with a league match, and” Emre said. and”God-willing, we will be the ones smiling at the end of the season, but it should be that whoever deserves it wins, and” he added.
Coach ismail Kartal decided the long-time captain was the one to turn the game around and put him in despite the pain. The rest of the match had seen only frustrating ends for Fenerbahandce attacks. Even after Mersin lost a player, the Yellow Canaries could not seem to work the ball into the net.
Mersinand’s first-string keeper Muammer Yildirim saw red early in the second half to put his club at a disaantage. He came out to challenge Senegal striker Moussa Sow on a breakaway and decided to slide. Unfortunately, Sow had tipped the ball just out of reach and Muammer hit his legs. Fortunately, it was outside of the box. Caner Erkin shot the resulting free kick over freshly fielded Nihat iahinand’s net.
and”Even though we had just 10 players for 40 minutes, we kept up a team game focused on victory, and” Mersin coach Riza andcalimbay said after the match. and”We played good football against both Galatasaray and Fenerbahandce, but we did not come away with points, and” he added. Mersin lost 1-0 to the Lions last week.

and”Mersin idman Yurdu was well prepared, they had two or three shots off the post. We had some good chances as well, and” Kartal said.
Brazilian forward Welliton hit the post twice and the crossbar once. He later sprinted up the side on a breakaway and shot at a wide angle, but the ball ricocheted off a sliding Volkan Demireland’s foot. Burkina Faso forward Prandeacutejuce Nakoulma worked the entire field to create chances for Mersin, but all attempts were ultimately foiled.
Muammer had proven his worth in the first half, as he repelled a good shot by Diego Ribas.
Sow and Cameroon forward Pierre Weboand’s flew wide and high for most of the match. Mehmet Topal shot just over the net. Sow and Netherlands winger Dirk Kuyt tumbled to the ground in the box with the Mersin defense trying to make use of a Bruno Alves long-ball, but Mersin came out on top and the Canaries were frustrated once again.
Fenerbahandce now has 70 points to leader Galatasarayand’s 73, with two weeks left to go, which is two chances the Yellow Canaries have to win and hope their rivals from across the Bosporus drop points. The upcoming week will be key, as the Lions will host third big team Beiiktai at home in the last big derby of the season.
In other Sunday matches, Trabzonspor crumbled away to lose 2-0 to Eskiiehirspor, while Bursaspor defeated Gaziantepspor 2-0 to help them catch up to Trabzon in the standings. Both teams now have 53.
Istanbul Baiakiehir defeated Kayseri Erciyesspor 1-0 away to reach 57 points, which helps it pull further ahead of Trabzon and Bursa in the hotly contested race for a UEFA berth next season. The result also dooms Erciyes to relegation to the second-tier PTT League 1 next year.
