Fast-breaking dinner brings Muslim together in Texas

TEXAS (CIHAN)- Muslims from different nationalities came together at a fast-breaking dinner (iftar) held by Raindrop Turkish Cultural Center in Texas.

Texas deputy Shelia Jackson Lee, Judge Jay Karahan and Houston Community College Board of Trustees chairman Neeta Sane also attended the event.

Speaking during the program, Lee said such events which bring people together is of great importance at a time when world faces serious problems. She also thanked Raindrop for organizing such an event.

Following Lee, head of Raindrop Mehmet OkumuI said unfortunately some circles misunderstand Islam and put Islam and terrorism in the same pot. Such kinds of programs play important role in overcoming such misunderstandings, added OkumuI.
