Electronic, art-pop acts to play Istanbul’s Akbank jazz fest in fall

British electronic music act Squarepusher — one of several aliases used by Tom Jenkinson — and Norwegian art-pop and jazz singer-songwriter Susanne Sundfandoslashr will perform in Istanbul this fall as part of the upcoming Akbank Jazz Festival, organizers announced last week.
Both concerts will come as part of the musiciansand’ respective world tours in support of their latest albums, concert promoter Pozitif Live said in a press release last Tuesday as it made tickets for the concerts available online at Biletix.
Squarepusher will be onstage Oct. 29 at the Babylon club, which is currently moving to a new location for the upcoming season, for a performance of songs from his 14th album, and”Damogen Furies,and” while Sundfandoslashr will perform songs from her sixth album, and”Ten Love Songs,and” on Oct. 31 at the Zorlu Center PSM.
The Akbank Jazz Festival will be celebrating its 25th anniversary from Oct. 21 through Nov. 1. Previously announced acts which are confirmed to perform this year include jazz greats John Scofield and Joe Lovano, French musician Manu Katche and leading jazz guitarist Bill Frisell.
