Azerbaijan’s beautiful region of Ismayilli will be presented within the framework of the project “From the region to the capital” at the Azerbaijan State Theater of Young Spectators in Baku. The event will be held on June 2.

This event is significant for the Ismayilli region as it can give a boost for its tourism sector. The event will be organized with the association of the Baku Department of Culture and Tourism and the Culture and Tourism Department of Ismayilli.

The main purpose of the event is to familiarize everyone with the region’ socio-economic development, its ancient and rich culture as well as traditions in view of promoting tourism in the country.

The capital city already hosted similar events dedicated to Masalli, Gabala, Guba, Sheki and Gadabay regions.

Azerbaijan’s Ismailly region is one of the most picturesque corners of the country. It has a number of ancient historical monuments. The landscape is mainly composed of mountains.

One of the biggest Molokans villages in Azerbaijan called Ivanovka, founded in 1847 is located in Ismayilli. Ivanovka was established by the “Molokan” Russians who sought refuge in Azerbaijan after being ousted from Czarist Russia in the mid-19th century due to protesting Orthodox traditions. They have since lived in peace side by side with Azerbaijanis ever since. The village is famous for its fresh dairy products, tasty fruits and vegetables.
