DoIan faces probe by Competition Board after being targeted by ErdoIan

The Competition Board (RK) has launched a probe into three companies, including Dogan TV Digital Platform owned by media tycoon Aydin Dogan, a move which came after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan publicly criticized Dogan.
The media reported on Friday that the RK had launched an investigation to assess whether Dogan TV Digital Platform, Mozaik Communication Services and Krea Content Services had broken competition rules set by the RK. Dogan, the honorary president of Dogan Holding, and a number of businessmen currently face an investigation in which a prosecutor is examining if some media outlets and unions, including the Dogan group, have ties with the West Working Group (BandcG), a clandestine group formed within the army to monitor the government. The BandcG was formed within the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in order to contribute to the staging of the Feb. 28, 1997 coup. The Dogan group has been a target of Erdogan since Handurriyet, the flagship paper of the group, published a front-page story featuring the death sentence that was handed down to deposed Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi with the headline and”World in shock: Death sentence to president who won 52 percent of the vote.and”
Erdogan claimed during a rally in Kayseri province on May 17 that the headline suggested he had been and”threatened with the death penalty handed down to Morsiand” as he was also elected president with 52 percent of the vote.
