Detained journalist sent to court

ISTANBUL: Sedef Kabas, the journalist that was detained on Tuesday morning over a recent tweet in which she criticized prosecutors who she says covered up a major corruption investigation, sent to the court after police interrogation.

At the door of the courthouse Kabas confirmed that she was detained due to a tweet about December 17 period – the date that Turkey’s worst ever graft and bribery scandal revealed and became public.

“I was detained due to a tweet about December 17 process. I said that I believe the graft probe shouldn’t be dropped” journalist stated.

Kabas testified to media crimes prosecutor Vedat YiGit and were released at late hours.
