Curfews in southeastern Turkey protested by women in İstanbul

A group of women, who react to the curfews due to the terrorist events in southeastern Turkey, held a sit-in protest in İstanbul on Sunday.

Wearing t-shirts written the names of the districts, in which curfew took place, women gathered in Aksaray Square, located in Fatih district. Carrying banners written ‘Stop curfews and government cruelty’ the group chanted slogans saying, ‘No war! Peace right now!’ ‘All or nothing!’ The group held sit-in protest taking about half an hour. Before and after the rally, police took tight security measures. Riot-police units kept guard at the every corner of the square.

Following the press release, concerning the ‘illegal curfew’, the group left from the scene peacefully.
