Criminal case launched against Nizami Piriyev under article ‘swindle with causing damage in large size’ – lawyer

Baku: A criminal case has been launched against businessman Nizami Piriyev under article 178.3.2 (swindle with causing damage in the large size), his lawyer Mukhtar Mustafayev told APA.

“Piriyev was sentenced to pretrial detention for 3 months and 24 days. I don’t know whether any other persons were detained or not. We will file petitions and complaints regarding the case,” the lawyer said.

Nizami Piriyev is the co-founder of the company PNN Group, the main assets of which are owned by the enterprise AzMeCo that operates in the petrochemical industry and the production of methanol.

PNN Group is a partner of the brands De Beers and Hamley’s. Nizami Piriyev also opened restaurants of KFC network in Azerbaijan.

The co-owner of PNN Group is his son Nasib Piriyev.
