Court rejects Anar Mammadov’s and others’ appeals

Baku: Baku Court of Appeal has today considered the appeals of head of the Election Monitoring and Democracy Studies Center Anar Mammadli and others, APA reports.

The court passed a judgment and rejected their appeal.

Anar Mammadli was sentenced to 5,6 years in prison depriving him of the right to hold office in state and local government bodies for 3 years and Bashir Suleymanli to 3,6 years in prison, depriving them of the right to hold office in state and local government bodies for 2 years and the latter was arrested in the courtroom.

Though the court sentenced Elnur Mammadov to 3,6 years in prison, depriving them of the right to hold office in state and local government bodies for 2 years, his sentence was replaced by 2-year suspended sentence under the Article #70 of the Criminal Code.

The defendants filed appeals against the court judgment.
