CMO Chairman: Religious extremist movements against us are somehow related to Armenia – “We will eradicate radicalism”

Baku: Today, there are some religious extremist forces, movements against us. They are somehow related to Armenia. They come to Azerbaijan under the guise of Takfiris and others.

Chairman of the Caucasian Muslim Office (CMO) Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade made the remarks on Monday at the event dedicated to the anniversary of 31 March – the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis, APA reported.

“We have to be very careful with them. We are on the right path. Those considering themselves Azerbaijanis and Turks, having honor should take a strong stance on the acts of genocide committed by enemies, especially the Armenians against us,” added Pashazade.

The CMO chairman said he could visit Iran and Saudi Arabia during the Soviet period, but couldn’t go to Turkey.

“We could go to Iran, but not to Turkey. They were afraid of Turkey, the unity of Turks. They are afraid of it today as well. Therefore, now you are trying to create discord among us. We must serve the homeland and worship Allah. We will eradicate radicalism,” he completed.
