CMO chairman: Islamic State – a terrorist organization created to split Islam

Islamic State (IS) is an terrorist organization created to split Islam, Co-chair of CIS Interreligious Council, Chairman of the Caucasian Muslim Office (CMO) Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh said.

He made the remarks on Thursday during the 3rd International Forum “Religion and World” in Moscow.

Pashazadeh said today, real fight against all manifestations of international terrorism is very important. “This fight should be a priority for all people regardless of their nationality and religion,” he noted.

The CMO chairman strongly condemned IS terrorist organization that has ideas running contrary to the religion and those turning Islam into a tool for their biased interests.

“Today we are witnessing the inhumane attitude toward migrants forced to leave their native lands in order to avoid violence and terrorism in some European countries. We condemn those trying to take a human life that is Allah’s blessing, planning and causing interethnic and inter-religious conflicts, migration and demographic disasters. All these pose a threat to the peace and stability in the world. Allah will never forgive them for their inhumane acts,” he said.

Azerbaijan supports Russian operations against Islamic State, said Pashazadeh.

He further said that Islamic State is an organization striving to link Islam to terrorism, violence and vandalism in the eyes of the international community.

“I am sure that the states, public figures and religious institutions can fight against extremism and radicalism. Azerbaijan, in its turn, focuses on fight against international terrorism. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev recently said that the fight against the international terrorism should be a priority for all countries and we can achieve the goal only by combining our efforts”, said the CMO chairman.
