CHP deputy files criminal complaint over ErdoIan’s remarks on Armenians

ANKARA (CIHAN)- Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) deputy HurIit GuneI appealed to Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office to file a criminal complaint Prime Minister Recep Tayyip ErdoIan who sparked an outrage by saying he was “even worse, called an Armenian”.

Speaking during a TV program on Tuesday evening, ErdoIan said: “I was called a Georgian. I apologize for this, but they even said [something] worse: They called me an Armenian,” ErdoIan said, adding, “But I’m a Turk.”

After the application GuneI spoke to the reporters saying that there are various minorities in Turkey. “There are Armenian people in Turkey. These are our people. Being an Armenian is not a mean situation. It is an equal situation. We have lived with Armenians friendly throughout the history,” said GuneI.

He also reminded that ErdoIan uttered insulting remarks on Greek people in 2011.
