Cannes award-winners headed to BaIka Sinema theaters

A selection of films that premiered to huge critical praise in the official selection of last monthand’s Cannes Film Festival, including the award-winning and”Son of Sauland” and and”The Assassin,and” are set to hit Turkish theaters via the indie distribution system Baika Sinema.
Nine films that premiered in and out of competition at the 68th Cannes Film Festival will be shown at Baika Sinema theaters in the coming months, the network that operates 16 theaters in six Turkish cities announced in a newsletter issued on Thursday. The exact release dates of the films werenand’t revealed.
and”Son of Saul,and” a Hungarian Holocaust drama that brought its first-time director, Laszlo Nemes, the festivaland’s Grand Prix, and and”The Assassin,and” a martial arts drama by Taiwanese filmmaker Hou Hsiao-hsien, which took home the best director honor, were joined on the list by Paolo Sorrentinoand’s critically acclaimed and”Youth,and” starring Michael Caine and Harvey Keitel in a drama about old age and Norwegian director Joachim Trierand’s and”Louder Than Bombs,and” starring Isabelle Huppert as a war photographer.
Also on the bill were and”Mon Roi,and” which brought Emmanuelle Bercot the best actress honor, and and”Chronic,and” a drama about a home-care nurse, for which Mexican writer-director Michel Franco won the best screenplay award.
The list was rounded out by Stephane Brizeand’s and”The Measure of a Man,and” about a man struggling to make a living after a period of unemployment, which won its lead Vincent Lindon the best actor prize, and”Marguerite Julienand” by Valerie Donzelli, and and”Loveand” by Gaspar Noe, which premiered out of competition.
