Saying that acting Interior Minister Selami Altinok had briefed Tekin on the attack, Kiliandcdaroilu said the Ankara Police Department is trying to identify the license plate of the attackersand’ car, adding he hopes the perpetrators will be caught soon.
Kiliandcdaroilu also said they had not received any intelligence about an attack on their headquarters, adding however there had been some warnings on planned attacks against the leaders of political parties. The CHP leader also noted the headquarters of the pro-Kurdish Peoplesand’ Democratic Party (HDP) had been exposed to a more serious attack earlier, adding that political parties are an essential part of democracy and that if anyone wants to defend democracy, they should provide political parties the necessary environment in which they can operate freely.
