Bahar Muradova: This tendency opens up new prospects for Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement

Baku: Despite the ongoing global economic crisis in the world, Azerbaijan has become an attractive country for foreign investors.

Vice speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Bahar Muradova made the remarks Thursday at the conference titled “Azerbaijan in the modern world”, organized by the New Azerbaijan Party.

She said that Azerbaijan is integrating to both the West and Euro-Atlantic structures in accordance with its national interests, as well as continues the multilateral cooperation with the Eastern countries.

“In this context, the main task specified as a strategic priority in the foreign policy is to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh problem. Due to the Ukrainian crisis, the world community seems to have begun to realize that separatism may have serious consequences to humanity. This tendency opens up new prospects for the solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

It is no coincidence that some positive corrections are noticed in the statements made by heads of state at international meetings, and Azerbaijan’s fair position is strongly supported. President Ilham Aliyev’s visits to Germany, Bulgaria and Vatican earlier this year is a clear evidence of it.

Moreover, it is not excluded that Azerbaijan will resort to military methods to ensure its territorial integrity and security under the international law in the last moment when diplomatic means yield no results. Because in many cases, some international agencies and world powers demonstrate double standards on this issue, and treat unfairly. In all cases, Azerbaijan is able to ensure its territorial integrity”, she noted.
