Azerbaijani President: “We will achieve the desired, restore historical justice and our territorial integrity”

Baku: Message from the President to Armenians: “If you do not want to die, do not go to Agdam, Fizuli, sit at home”

“Our main problem – the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh problem, unfortunately, is not solved,” Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said Thursday in his speech during the nationwide festivities on the occasion of Novruz Holiday.

According to the President, last year intermediaries made efforts and three meetings were organized: “As you know, in August, September and October, the Heads of States, dignitaries of the OSCE Minsk Group made efforts, there have been three meetings.

The last meeting in Paris, in the opinion of both parties, was successful. But less than a week after the meeting, Armenia has resorted to the next challenge. They have started large-scale military exercises in Agdam, in the occupied territories, to re-engage us in the provocation. We did not want to go to the provocation, as committed to international obligations.

Once again I want to note that at a meeting held in Paris in late October, we said that we should reduce the tension on the contact line, pay more attention to the essence of the peace talks. So we were very restrained. But the enemy interpreted it in a different way and attacked our positions. In this case, of course, Azerbaijani soldier, showing valor, destroyed an enemy helicopter. After that, they began to try to take revenge.

Even the most high-ranking officials of Armenia stated that they will avenge. As a result of this fascist ideology dozens of Armenian soldiers were killed on the line of contact. I said, and I want to say again: If you do not want to die, do not go to Agdam, Fizuli, sit at home. As for the case, we must take revenge, and are taking. We will avenge the victims of Khojaly. The blood of our martyrs must and will be avenged. ”

President Ilham Aliyev noted that today the Azerbaijani army fully control the situation on the contact line: “Our soldiers adequately protect the homeland. We took over full superiority. I am absolutely confident that we will achieve the desired, restore historical justice and our territorial integrity.

The Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be resolved only within the framework of internationally recognized territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. After that, we, Azerbaijanis, of course, will come back to our ancient land – and in Erevan and Geycha and Zangezur.

All this is our ancient lands. The younger generation should also know that our lands are not only the territory of independent Azerbaijan today. We need to go back and return to those lands. We have to work hard every day to bring that day closer. ”

“So we have to be even stronger. Must have a stronger army. The Army is our main task now. Therefore, as much money as needed is allocated for these purposes. Today Azerbaijani army in terms of preparedness, equipment, weapons, is among the most advanced armies in the world. This we have created, because there is no other way, “Aliyev stressed.

The President said that international law does not work and international treaties are only a piece of paper and have no value in today’s world: “Who has the power, he will ignore these treaties.

That is, the world entered a new period, we should know it. We did not start this period. We have always relied on international law and so have built our entire policy. We raise our voice: why UN Security Council resolutions are not met.

It is plainly written that Azerbaijani lands should be unconditionally and immediately freed from occupation. The international law is merely a tool for powerful states to force weak state to something.

But for them, international law is nothing. We see it, all see it. We see this in all corners of the world, who is stronger, he is right. What does this mean? The fact that you have to be strong. We have been started for this: a strong army, a strong economy, civil consent and, of course, sound policy and social justice. ”
