Azerbaijani President signs an order to establish State Commission for investigating causes of multi-storey building fire in Baku

Baku: On May 19, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an order to establish a State Commission for investigating the causes of the fire in a multi-storey building in Baku’s Binagadi district.

Under the order, the composition of the State Commission is as follows:

Chairman of the Commission:

Abid Sharifov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Members of the Commission:

Ramil Usubov, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Kemaleddin Heydarov, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Zakir Garalov, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Eldar Mahmudov, Minister of National Security of Azerbaijan

Ogtay Shiraliyev, Minister of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Samir Sharifov, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Salim Muslimov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Hajibala Abutalibov, Head of the Baku Mayor’s Office

Under the instruction of the head of state, the Commission shall:

– investigate the causes and conditions of the fire outbreak, and determine and carry out urgent measures to eliminate its consequences;

– ensure the calculation of property damages as a result of the fire within 15 days;

– provide financial and other necessary assistance to fire victims and family members of those who died;

– provide treatment for those injured in the fire;

– examine the suitability of residential building and take necessary measures for temporary settlement of residents;

– regularly report on works done;

The Prosecutor General’s Office, the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Emergency Situations are taking urgent measures to investigate the causes of the fire outbreak and to identify and brought the perpetrators to justice.
