Azerbaijani detained on charges of producing counterfeit alcohol in Russia

Baku: An Azerbaijani has been detained on charges of producing and distributing counterfeit alcohol in Russia.

Russian Interior Ministry said that a 28-year old Azerbaijani was detained as part of the criminal case on mass death from counterfeit alcohol. Counterfeit alcohol poisoning was recorded in Chuvashia, Tatarstan, Moscow and Kursk regions in November. 14 people died from counterfeit alcohol in Krasnoyarsk.

The Azerbaijani suspected tried to flee from the police during the operation, but couldn’t. His involvement in the incident is currently being investigated.

During the special operation in the north of Moscow, police officers confiscated 160,000 bottles of counterfeit alcohol.
